 Peru: General Flight Information

International airfare - to and from Lima (Peru) - is not included in our journeys. You should make your own travel arrangements to get there. For flights to Lima/Peru you may try any of these internet-based tickets providers:

http://www.onlinetravel.com

http://www.expedia.co.uk

http://www.ebookers.com

People working in the travel industry may also book their flights through:

If you are based in Europe, you may try also Opodo online reservation booking system:

Opodo is a new Pan-European travel company created by nine of Europe’s leading airlines. If you are based in  the United States you may go to www.orbitz.com. This is one of the best site for ticketing and reservation in the USA.

Before travelling to PERU please make sure you have a valid passport with you, citizens from most countries do not require a visa to enter PERU. However, the expire date on your passport should not be within 6 months from the date you are travelling. There must also be at least one full empty page to allow customs stamps. We recommend you to make (and bring) two photocopies (better if authenticated by your consular office) of your original passport, this may not be a substitute for travelling but  will facilitate the issue of a new passport in case the original is lost or stolen.

LIMA AIRPORT FLIGHT INFORMATION: www.lap.com.pe

When leaving Lima for Iquitos check-in at the relevant Peruvian domestic airline counter and pay your national departure tax (currently US $ 6.00) at a different counter, then walk your way to the gate for your flight to Iquitos. The same tax applies when leaving Iquitos for Lima. An International Departure Tax of US $ 30.00 is payable in cash at the airport, when leaving Lima to return to your country of origin.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that all timetables may be subject to change without notice at any time on part of the Peruvian domestic airlines. Overbooking is a standard practice well consolidated among Peruvian as well as international airlines. Regardless of which company you are flying with, your ticket must be reconfirmed at least 72 hours before departure - on the outbound trip - and then reconfirmed again 48/24 hours before, on the return trip. Do your domestic flight check-in early (i.e. 2 hours before departure), to avoid disappointment.

Aerocontinente airline - later renamed Nuevo Continente - has now stopped permanently to operate in Peru.
