The ''Off Iquitos'' option is best
suited to those who are already familiar with travelling to/in Peru and/or are
independent re. all travel arrangements and Hotel staying and do
not require assistance with those. Should you plan to begin
your retreat on the same day of your arrival in Iquitos, you
must select a flight arriving there in the morning, to
maximize your retreat time.
Should
you do require help from us, you should go for the ''Off Lima'' option, and we
shall take care of your travel arrangements in Peru on your behalf,
from your first arrival in Lima!!

Isla de Los Monos
(i.e. "Monkeys' island")
This is a Private Natural Reserve
which can only be reached by motorboat or speedboat and is the only place near
Iquitos where monkeys - including endangered species - are left undisturbed, and
can be seen hanging around trees, in the wild.
Cost:
The Isla de Los Monos tour
makes already - on its own - a one day excursion and - subject to availability -
costs £ 185 GBP p.p. extra (min 2+ participants).
It can only be done as
part of the Ayahuasca retreat in Ashi Meraya.

& CHAPS transfers) are accepted forms of payment. Most U.K. high street banks have now joined and

pay cash into our bank account, please.
Bank Fees:
There are
usually no fees on this end for receiving an international payment made
using a CHAPS electronic bank transfer. However, when wiring an electronic payment from
abroad - whether it's a CHAPS or a SWIFT - you must make sure that all bank
fees (U.K. bank fees + your own bank's fees) would be paid for by you.
U.K. bank fees to receive a
foreign payment are currently
set at £ 7 GBP: this amount must be added to any wired payment which you send us
as a SWIFT payment, unless you clearly instruct your bank to pay all

Payment
Deadline:
At least 30 days before intended
date of travelling, for Ayahuasca retreats, and 50 days for

Diet retreats. Please note that this is the "date-by" we must receive your
payment not the "date-by" you should send it. Allow at least 7
extra days for the payment to reach us and clear at the bank. Your place in
the retreat will only be confirmed upon receipt of the payment.
Reservation requests at shorter notice
(and in any case no less than 2 weeks before the beginning of the retreat) may be considered only for retreats "off
Iquitos", standing availability, and subject to immediate payment and fulfilment
of our
booking conditions.

Insurance:
Travel Insurance
is mandatory to protect yourself in case of flight delays and
cancellations, and also in case of abandonment, curtailing and cancellation of the retreat on your part, due to
a family emergency or other unforeseen circumstances. You must also take
an appropriate Medical Insurance for your trip to Peru/the Amazon, which
would cover for urgent emergency evacuation, including repatriation by air
ambulance.

Flight Info:
There are
currently no international flights serving Iquitos directly, so your journey
there has
to be routed via Lima (Peru) with a domestic carrier.
There are only two airlines
currently serving Iquitos airport:
LAN Peru
and Star Peru. You must select a
flight arriving in Iquitos in the morning, if you wish to begin your retreat in
the jungle on the same day
of your arrival in town. If your flight arrives in the afternoon or at night,
your pick-up to go to Ashi Meraya will be done directly from your Hotel in town,
at 8:30 AM of the day following your arrival. If you don't know where to stay in
Iquitos, we can recommend you a good Hotel.

Facilities in
Ashi Meraya:
Ecological, spacious, comfortable private
and shared wooden bungalows, built in the traditional Amazonian-styled thatched roof
on stilts, with materials sourced locally. There are only PRIVATE bungalows for
guests doing the Plant Diet. ALL bungalows (either for guests doing the Plant
Diet and/or the Ayahuasca retreat) are equipped with private rustic shower (room temperature water),
private toilet, private wash basin, (single and/or double) bed with mattress, cotton-made mosquito-net
and open glassless windows (for ventilation) screened from insects. No
electricity. In a word: very luxurious by local people standards, and very
rustic by Western standards! Treated drinkable water and Ayahuasca or
plant diet- compatible food will be served throughout
your staying.

Your fully detailed
Information Pack
containing essential information on how to better prepare for
your trip to Peru and your retreat in the Amazon will be normally sent to you as email
attachment (or - if required - by post, or both), within 7 working days from confirmation on our
side and the receipt of your payment & booking details.
Your place in
Ashi Meraya for the
Ayahuasca or Shamanic Plant Diet retreat will be reserved and confirmed only upon receipt of the
full payment, and/or of the deposit, whichever is earlier. We allow 7 days for temporary
reservations, once availability for a retreat date has been confirmed. After
this time, if we don't hear from you and payment is not received, your
reservation will be cancelled.

We have two interpreters who work for us on our shamanic retreats we organize:
Clever Hoyos and
David Maggs, both highly experienced in dealing with Western pilgrims.
Clever is an extremely skilled Peruvian jungle guide, whilst David is a
UK-trained psychologist, with a background in anthropology and himself a
shaman's apprentice. The interpreter
may be with you on a live-in basis, on 24 hrs call, if required.
We
can usually guarantee the interpreter services up to 61 days continuously,
subject to availability. People wishing to partake to long time retreats over 61
days in length, should be able to communicate in Spanish (no one in Ashi Meraya speaks English). The interpreter will be extremely useful in the
transition phase, during the first weeks or month-s, but if you plan to stay for
a very long time, you should make sure to acquire the basic foundations of
communication in Latin American Spanish. Subject to availability, you may book a
translator for any length of time, from 7 to 61 days, and occasionally even for
longer.

It's
not possible to
book the interpreter on a part-time basis, or for periods shorter than 7 days.
Please note that it is not possible nor feasible to have a translator for each individual participant.
All retreat participants must be willing to share
their interpreter with other guests who have also booked for this service.

are ongoing and journeys dates are tailor-made and customized 365 days a year, subject to

to fill-in, sign and send back to us - by "signed for"/registered
post or courier service - not by fax or email - the required
Agreement Form
(this is
a legally binding document governing the relationship between you and us),
alongside a copy of your passport (only the
page with your
details on). We regret we won't be able to accept any guest for either the
Ayahuasca or the Shamanic Plant Diet retreat without having previously
received the signed Agreement, completed in all required parts.

Filming, Recording &
Photos:
Filming - even with infra-red
equipment - and/or audio-recording of Ayahuasca ceremonies is strictly
prohibited. Equally, the use of a camera (with or without flash) is
forbidden at the time of the Ayahuasca and the optional San Pedro sessions. Please always ask shamans, Shipibo
family and staff
for permission before taking pictures of them. Thank you for your co-operation.
Special
arrangements and local support/logistic may be provided to TV and Film companies
for serious documentaries focussed on Amazonian shamanism, Shipibo culture
and/or local ethnobotanical lore. Please
