Something in the air, my life, the art world….something strong was compelling me to the spirit journey. And if it was of such interest to me, I knew it would be to my readers. There were many choices I could make as a journalist, in terms of where to take this journey, but I just felt that [Ashi Meraya] was the right one. I had an amazing experience filled with warmth and spirit. I learned things about nature, grace, and myself that I never imagined. This experience remains close to my heart still, and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Words cannot really express what I have experiences here in [Ashi Meraya] in the last 3 months [of shamanic plant diet] – So much, so much!! So much beauty, not just in the surroundings, the land, which feeds the eye and the senses until they are overflowing but, also, in the individual plants that I have come to know and to love. The plants that just give themselves in beauty so that we can be healed and remember how we can also open ourselves like flowers and offer our beauty to each other as a precious gift.
The great tree beings who stand tall and strong and give generously their teachings tenderly so that we might remember how to find harmony with our true essence and with others around us. The trees, the Ayahuasca, whom I have come to know as my mother, who open us to new worlds, who open a place in us so that we can see far and intimate places, so that we can see the world as it really is, not just the illusion that we create. I remember a little more clearly now that I am related to all things – that every being is my brother and my sister. The animals, insects and birds who have come and inspired sweet words to me, who have accompanied me as I have travelled far, who have sung me into a place of tranquillity. The waters that have flawed and fallen from the sky that give this place life. The sun who rises daily so that all life may live and whom blesses us daily. The moon that caresses us gently and sings her sweet lullabies. The songs and icaros that have been sung. The people who give themselves again and again so that my time here has been good and full of beauty. They have shown me so much love, not just in the cleaning, the food and the caring of my needs but also in the smiles, the hugs, the laughter and sweet words. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I say to everyone: ”You should not hesitate but to jump into the arms of the divine that is [Ashi Meraya]. Just as the rain cannot help but fall from the sky, I also cannot help but return here time after time – My heart will always live in this place.
